About FTF/Deer Valley Family Resource Center - New River
The Deer Valley Unified School District’s Family Resource Center in partnership with First Things First, provides support to strengthen families. DVFRC offers education, prevention, and awareness by coordinating existing programs and services to meet the needs of families with children ages birth through five. In support of this mission, the center empowers our parents and caregivers to become educators themselves, and join in the joy of their child’s learning during the early developmental years.

TOOLS FOR SCHOOL Who’s it for? Children three to five years old and their favorite grownups What will you do? You and your child will get a head start on kindergarten! Share books and activities that build kindergarten skills in class and are easily practiced at home. What will we learn? Learn kindergarten basics like letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. You and your child will also go beyond the basics to work on social and emotional skills that all children need for school. Support for early literacy programs is provided by a grant from First Things First, which partners with families and communities to give all Arizona children the opportunity to arrive at kindergarten healthy and ready to succeed.
